• Freeze plugs blown out. Sometimes the freeze plugs get blown out inside of the pump.  If this happens with your diesel pump, this is an indication of serious damage on the inside of the fuel pump. Pumps that have the freeze plugs blown out will need to be completely replaced, and the old pump’s core is no good (cannot be exchanged).
