• Freeze plugs blown out. Occasionally the freeze plugs will blow out inside the diesel fuel pump.  If this happens with your fuel pump, this indicates extensive problems within the fuel pump. Pumps with the freeze plugs blown out will definitely need to be completely replaced, and the old pump’s core is no good (cannot be exchanged).
