• Freeze plugs blown out. From time to time the freeze plugs will blow out inside the diesel pump.  When this happens, this is an indicator of extensive damage on the inside of the pump. Fuel pumps that have the freeze plugs blown out will have to be completely replaced, and the core is not eligible for exchange.
