• Blown out freeze plugs. Sometimes the freeze plugs will blow out inside the pump.  If this occurs with your diesel fuel pump, this means you have extensive damage within the pump. Fuel pumps that have the freeze plugs blown out will need to be completely replaced, and the old pump’s core is not eligible for exchange.
